FOO-LS GOLD: A PHOTO ZINE OF LATINA/X/O'S & THEIR CHAINS
Ongoing Installations
Foo-ls Gold: A Photo Zine of Latina/x/o’s & Their Chains was my first real photo project——allowing me to build a tangible counter narrative object that incorporates my skills in photography, screen printing, and Brown hand assembly. I made my first mistakes and found my first big wins, pulling all nighters and all dayer’s to assemble 100 copies of this first project——because I thought 100 copies was the usual amount for a first-run. I am grateful for all the mistakes I made, I am grateful to every Latina/x/o that jumped in front of my lens, and I am especially grateful for those first 100 copies——this project has brought me every opportunity that I now hold high.
Selected works from this collection of photographs have been installed in multiple spaces across California. This project will continue to develop in more future zine issues and public installations.
